The committee confirmed that the 1st fundraising dinner raised K105,000 in table sales, with additional pledges bringing the total to K200,000, though 70% remains outstanding.

Only K31,500 has been collected so far, with K74,000 still pending from government departments.

For the 2nd fundraising dinner in Port Moresby, the committee approved the Cocoa Board to cover the venue cost of K94,600, to be reimbursed after pledge collections.
Invoices, acknowledgment letters, and follow-ups were endorsed to secure all outstanding payments and ensure timely reimbursement.

Our Financial Journey

The financial foundation of the Greater Sepik Cocoa of Excellence & Trade Expo has been built through transparency, collaboration, and strong community support. Our first corporate fundraising dinner in Wewak successfully secured K105,000 in confirmed table sales, with generous pledges lifting the total commitment to K200,000. While a significant portion of these contributions remains in the form of pledges, the committee has already collected K31,500, and follow-up is underway with government agencies and partners to secure the remaining K74,000.

As preparations expand to the national stage, the committee approved the hosting of the second corporate fundraising dinner in Port Moresby. To ensure the event proceeds smoothly, the Cocoa Board of PNG has committed to cover the venue cost of K94,600, with a full reimbursement scheduled once all pledges from both events have been collected. This support reflects a strong institutional belief in the Expo’s long-term economic impact for the Sepik and Papua New Guinea.

Our financial journey is driven by accountability and partnership. All invoices, acknowledgment letters, and financial documentation are being systematically issued, and dedicated teams are actively engaging contributors to ensure every commitment is honored. Through the combined efforts of the private sector, government agencies, and the people of the Sepik, the Expo is progressing toward full financial readiness.

This united approach demonstrates not only the value of the cocoa industry to our region but also the shared confidence in the transformative vision behind the Expo.
