The Greater Sepik Cocoa of Excellence & Trade Expo 2026 is preparing to roll out two additional Corporate Fundraising Dinners as part of its nationwide fundraising campaign to support next year’s major cocoa event in Wewak. Following the successful launch in Port Moresby, the Expo’s Technical Advisory and Working Committee has confirmed that the next fundraising dinners will be held in Vanimo on 12 December 2025 and in Lae on 26 January 2026 by.

The Committee says the goal of the continued fundraising efforts is to raise sufficient funds to successfully host the Expo scheduled for 21–23 April 2026, an event expected to attract cocoa farmers, international buyers, exporters, manufacturers, research institutions, and development partners from across the country and beyond.

The nationwide fundraising drive is part of a broader strategy to ensure the 2026 Expo is fully equipped to deliver maximum value to cocoa farmers. Funds raised will support logistics, farmer participation, technical demonstrations, cocoa competition activities, and trade engagement platforms designed to help PNG farmers connect directly with buyers.

The Port Moresby launch has set a strong foundation, and they expect Vanimo and Lae to show similar enthusiasm. These regional dinners aim to mobilize support from business communities, provincial administrations, industry partners, and individuals who believe in strengthening the cocoa sector and improving farmer livelihoods.

The Greater Sepik Cocoa of Excellence & Trade Expo remains committed to elevating the profile of PNG cocoa, improving market access for rural farmers, and positioning locally grown cocoa on the global stage. With momentum building across provinces, the upcoming fundraising dinners will play a crucial role in ensuring the Expo becomes a landmark event for Papua New Guinea’s agriculture sector.
