Meanwhile, in Port Moresby, political attention shifted this evening to the Greater Sepik Cocoa of Excellence Trade and Expo Fundraising Dinner, hosted at the Dynasty Restaurant.
Hon. James Donald, Member for North Fly and Deputy Opposition Leader, was captured arriving as an attendee at the event.
Governor Allan Bird also confirmed his attendance as the Keynote Speaker, alongside representatives from the Cocoa Board and other key stakeholders.
The fundraising dinner, scheduled to commence shortly, aims to generate support for the Greater Sepik Cocoa Initiative, a project strongly championed by Governor Bird. The initiative seeks to further commercialize cocoa farming, harvesting, and marketing across the greater Sepik region, positioning it for entry into larger domestic and international markets.
Organizers say the event marks another milestone in the region’s efforts to scale up production and elevate Sepik cocoa to a higher level of economic competitiveness.
