THE GREATER SEPIK COCOA EXPO TO BE BIGGER AND BETTER

The upcoming Cocoa of Excellence & Trade Expo in East Sepik Province is expected to be the biggest and best show ever held in the region.

Regional Cocoa Coordinator for East and West Sepik, Mr. Daryll Worimo Wabar, said this will be the first time international buyers will meet local farmers face-to-face in the province. The expo, set for April 21st–23rd, will bring in overseas chocolate tasters, investors, and cocoa buyers.

During the first corporate fundraiser dinner at the Village Inn Hotel, a total of K210,000 was raised through strong support from business houses in Wewak. This support shows confidence in the growing cocoa industry in both East and West Sepik.

Interim Technical Working Committee Chairman, Mr. Yawi, thanked all business owners for their generous contributions. He said the funds will help bring international partners and buyers to meet local farmers during the 2026 Cocoa of Excellence Trade & Expo.

Mr. Yawi and his fundraising team are now preparing for the second fundraiser and the official expo launch at APEC House in Port Moresby on November 28th, 2025.

A special call is made to all business houses and partners to continue supporting the Greater Sepik Cocoa of Excellence & Trade Expo 2026.
